The magnificence of the world explained in the Quran!

As Muslims we believe that Allah is the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. We believe it because that is what has been repeated to us again and again by all those who played a part in our teachings; our parents, our school teachers and our ‘qaari sahibs’ as we called them, who taught us how to read the Quran in Arabic. But did we understand the full power of that sentence? That Allah is the Creator of the heavens and the Earth? We did not. We only understood it till we minutely read and understood the Holy Book of Allah, the Quran.

This world is magnificent. It’s huge, it’s intricate and the intelligence that has gone into its creation goes well beyond human intelligence. We know that, we understand that and we accept that. What scientists have discovered in modern times and brought up theories about was proven to us by Allah hundreds of years ago when the Quran was revealed onto the Holy prophet (PBUH). Allah has said in the Quran about the creation of the world so that we may understand:

“He created the sun, the moon, and the stars, (all) governed by laws under His command. Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds! (7:54)”

Indeed it is upto Allah the Almighty to govern his entire world that He has so created. The splendor and glory of this world is explained by Allah in the Quran in various places so that His creation knows that the world they live in is being controlled by Allah just like they are. The stars are shining because of Allah. The sun is giving light to us because He said so and the moon comes out at night because He is in control. Only Him. He is the One who has given us day through the Sun and He is the One who has made it followed by night with the moon so that there is not complete darkness.  And again and again and again, He is the One who has mentioned in his glorious book, the Quran:

"Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon."(25:61)

So read the Quran. And understand the magnificence of this world that He has given us for no other source better explains it than the book of Allah. Indeed, what is better than the word of Allah? Surely nothing!

The Quran has explained that it is Allah who has created the continents, the seas, spread the earth, given us magnificent mountains, blessed us with lush green fields upon fields wherin he has spread thousands of animals so as to give us livelihood and food! He has repeatedly mentioned in the Quran that HE is the one who has given us rain, made our vegetation grow (Have we ever thought of the number of edible vegetables we are blessed with!?), He has given us palm trees and grains for survival.

“And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;-A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead land; thus is the rising”.(50:6-11)

And all this that Allah has blessed us with has a certain order in which it is provided to us. Nothing goes out of order. Everything is planned by Allah. Everything. Allah has said in the Quran:

“The sun must not catch up the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. Each one is travelling in an orbit with its own motion."

And therin lies the proof of the magnificence of this world coming directly from Allah. Coming directly from the Quran. So read it and feel blessed by what Allah has provided us with. And then ponder. Ponder that if Allah has blessed us such magnificence in this world, then what shall the Hereafter be like?
