Make Dua for the Quran’s Guidance

The book of Allah has been written in Arabic because it was the language of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), the Prophet onto whom the book was revealed. So it was natural that Allah chose Arabic for the verses to be sent down upon him. However, in his verses Allah asked us to read and learn the Quran and there is a tradition of the holy Prophet (PBUH) “The Best amongst you is (he) who learns and teaches the Holy Quran.”

With this in mind Muslims all over the world seek to learn the Arabic language in an attempt to understand the words of Allah. However, some Muslims, especially converts or those who have not got the opportunity to learn the Quran in their childhood, find it difficult to learn the language and many give up.

In this situation a true Muslim must pray to Allah to make it easier for them to learn. With sincere praying to Allah He Subhanawatalah will open the doors to learn the Quran for the person. And not only will the person start loving the book of Allah, understanding it like a story, but will delve deeper and deeper into the meanings of what exactly Allah is trying to tell us. When the person is on the way to mastery of the Quran, it is then that he is truly towards the path of Allah. Because that is the path where he is not only learning the Quran but also following it.

Allah has said about the Quran in the Quran “And indeed We have made the Quran easy for direction and guidance, but is there anyone who will take advice?” (Sura Al-Qamar 54, verse # 17). So beautiful. Allah has himself promised the guidance of the Quran to those who seek it. So will we not be among those people? Will we not seek guidance through it? If we’re having trouble in pronouncing certain words or letters of the Quran, will we not make dua for Allah’s help? Ofcourse we will. And we should! Let’s keep praying to Allah to help us read and understand the Quran better but let’s also pray for those people who have trouble doing so. May Allah’s guidance of the Quran reach all. Ameen.
